Definition of To crush / To destroy

Allah says: 'Their Lord destroyed them (fa-damdama 'alayhim)' (Ash-Shams: 14).

Damdama: to destroy completely, annihilate with a crash.

The people of Thamûd were destroyed for killing the miraculous she-camel.
