Definition of Cup / Glass

Al-Ka's refers to the cup filled with drink.

The Almighty says: 'A cup will be circulated among them' (As-Saffat 45).

If it is empty, it is called qadaḥ not ka's.

Al-ka's of Paradise contains a pure drink without intoxication.

Surah As-Saffat : 45 Meccan

﴿يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ﴾

There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring,

Surah At-Tur : 23 Meccan

﴿يَتَنَٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ﴾

They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin.

Surah Al-Waqi'a : 18 Meccan

﴿بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ﴾

With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring -

Surah Al-Insan : 5 Medinan

﴿إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا﴾

Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur,

Surah Al-Insan : 17 Medinan

﴿وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا﴾

And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger

Surah An-Naba : 34 Meccan

﴿وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا﴾

And a full cup.
