Hadith text: Indeed, the cursers will not be witnesses or intercesso…

عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ رضي الله عنه: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّ اللَّعَّانِينَ لَا يَكُونُونَ شُهَدَاءَ وَلَا شُفَعَاءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ».

Abu ad-Dardā’ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, the cursers will not be witnesses or intercessors on the Day of Judgment."

• Cursing is prohibited and its frequent practice is a major sin.
• The punishment in the Hadīth is specifically for those who frequently curse, not for a single instance or similar situations. What is also excluded is permissible cursing, which refers to what is legislated in the Shariah about cursing those who possess condemned attributes without specifying individuals, such as saying: "May Allah curse the Jews and Christians," "May the curse of Allah be upon the oppressors," "May Allah curse the image-makers," "May Allah curse those who engage in the actions of the people of Lot," "May Allah curse those who sacrifice to other than Allah," and "May Allah curse those men who imitate women and those women who imitate men," and so on.
