Hadiths on Da‘wah and Hisbah

Authentic hadith If Allah wills to do good to a ruler, He appoints for him a truthful adviser, who will remind him if he forgets and help him if he remembers. And if Allah wills otherwise for him, He appoints for him a bad adviser who will not remind him if he forgets, nor will he help him if he remembers. Authentic hadith Allah never sent any prophet nor did He invest anyone with authority except that he has two entourages: one entourage enjoins him to do good and encourages him to carry it out; another entourage enjoins him to do evil and incites him to carry it out. Either you command good and forbid evil, or Allah will soon send upon you a punishment from Him, then you will pray to Him but He will not respond to you Authentic hadith O son, I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) say: The worst of shepherds is the harsh one, so beware of being one of them Authentic If a person falls ill or travels, he shall be credited with whatever good deeds he used to perform while being at home and in good health Authentic There was a man who, as far as I know, lived farther from the mosque than anyone else, and he never missed a prayer Authentic hadith No Muslim plants a tree except that whatever is eaten from it will be counted for him as charity, and whatever is stolen from it will be counted as charity for him, and no loss is incurred on him except that it will be counted as charity for him Authentic hadith People were judged by the divine revelation during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) but the divine revelation has ceased. Now, we only judge you by what is apparent to us from your deeds. Whoever appears to be good, we trust and honor him, and what he does in secret is no concern of ours, for Allah will judge him for what he does in secret. Whoever appears to be evil, we will not trust or believe him. Authentic Religion is sincerity Authentic hadith Allah gave permission to His Messenger and did not give permission to you. Allah only gave me permission for a few hours of daytime, and its sanctity today is as it was yesterday. So, let those who are present inform those who are absent Authentic There is a charity to be given for each joint of the human body Authentic hadith They lead you in prayers. If they do well, then you will be rewarded; but if they make mistakes, then you will receive reward and the mistake will be theirs Authentic hadith O Allah, treat harshly those who rule over my nation with harshness and treat gently those who rule over my nation with gentleness Authentic hadith Be patient, for no time will come but will be followed by a worse one until you meet your Lord Authentic Listen and obey, for they are only responsible for their duty, and you are responsible for your duty Authentic O Allah, treat harshly those who have any charge over my Ummah and treat them harshly, and treat gently those who have any charge over my Ummah and treat them gently Authentic There is no one whom Allah puts in a position of authority, and he dies on the day he dies while cheating those under his authority except that Allah will forbid Paradise for him Authentic hadith If any of you is assigned by us to a position but conceals a needle or more from us, it will amount to misappropriation and he will be called upon to restore it on the Day of Judgment Authentic Indeed, the religion is easy. No one overburdens himself in the religion except that he will be overwhelmed by it. So, seek uprightness (be moderate) and try to be close to it Authentic hadith The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) made a bond of brotherhood between Salmān and Abu Ad-Dardā'. Salmān paid a visit to Abu Ad-Dardā' and found his wife, Um Ad-Dardā', dressed in a shabby manner and asked her why she was in that state. She replied, "Your brother Abu Ad-Dardā' is not interested in (the pleasures of) this world." Later, Abu Ad-Dardā' came and prepared a meal for Salmān. Salmān asked Abu Ad-Dardā' to eat with him, but Abu Ad-Dardā' said: "I am fasting." Salmān said: "I am not going to eat unless you eat." So, Abu Ad-Dardā' ate with him. When it was night, Abu Ad-Dardā' got up to offer (voluntary) night prayer, but Salmān told him to sleep and Abu Ad-Dardā' slept. After sometime, Abu Ad-Dardā' again got up to pray but Salmān told him to sleep. When it was the last hours of the night, Salmān told him to get up then, and both of them offered the prayer. Salmān told Abu Ad-Dardā': "Your Lord has a right on you, your own self has a right on you, and your family has a right on you, so give everyone their due rights." Abu Ad-Dardā' came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and narrated the whole story. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Salmān has spoken the truth." Authentic hadith Fear Allah regarding these dumb animals. Ride them when they are fit, and eat them when they are fit Authentic hadith O Allah, bless the early morning hours for my Ummah Authentic hadith The best number of companions is four; the best detachment is (that made up of) four hundred; and the best army is (that made up of) four thousand; and an army of twelve thousand will never be defeated because of their small numbers Authentic hadith It is obligatory upon you to listen and obey (the ruler) in times of your ease and of your difficulty, whether you feel energetically stimulated or you feel compelled, and even when someone else is given undue preference over you Authentic hadith Whenever we gave the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) pledge of allegiance to listen and obey, he would say to us: To the best of your ability Authentic hadith A Muslim person must listen and obey concerning what he likes and hates, unless he is ordered to commit a sin. If he is ordered to commit a sin, then he should neither listen nor obey Good hadith Whoever insults the ruler, Allah will insult him Authentic hadith Listen and obey, even if an Abyssinian slave, whose head is like a raisin, was appointed a ruler over you Authentic hadith Whoever obeys me has obeyed Allah, and whoever disobeys me has disobeyed Allah; and whoever obeys the leader has obeyed me, and whoever disobeys the leader has disobeyed me Authentic hadith The best of your leaders are those whom you love and who love you, and who invoke Allah's blessings upon you and you invoke His blessings upon them. And the worst of your leaders are those whom you hate and they hate you, and whom you curse and they curse you Authentic hadith The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) forbade using (live) animals as targets Authentic hadith The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) saw a donkey that had been branded on the face. He disapproved of it Authentic hadith The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade striking the face and branding on the face Authentic hadith The children of Israel were ruined when their women started using this Authentic Do what you are capable of doing (regularly). By Allah, Allah never grows weary (of giving rewards) until you grow weary (of doing good deeds) Authentic Whoever gives up obedience and isolates from the community and dies has died a death like that of jāhiliyyah (the pre-Islamic era of ignorance) Authentic If someone comes to you seeking to undermine your solidarity or disrupt your unity when you have agreed on one man, kill him Authentic hadith Who has done this? May Allah curse whoever has done this. Verily, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) invoked curse upon whoever makes any living creature a target of shooting Authentic hadith The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade killing an animal by tying it up and taking aim at it Authentic A people who make a woman their leader will never succeed Authentic hadith If Allah, the Exalted, puts anyone in the position of authority over the affairs of Muslims and he secludes himself, not meeting their needs, deficiencies, and poverty; Allah will keep Himself away from him, not fulfilling his needs, deficiencies, and poverty Authentic Had they entered it, they would never have come out of it until the Day of Judgment. Obedience is only in what is right Authentic There will be rulers who tell lies and oppress; whoever believes their lies and assists them in their oppression does not belong to me, and I do not belong to him Authentic Let not the fear of people prevent any man among you from speaking the truth when he sees it or knows it Authentic Indeed, there will be trials. There will come a trial in which the one sitting in it will be better than the one walking towards it, and the one walking towards it will be better than the one rushing to it
