The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) gave glad tidings that whoever gets his feet covered with dust while striving in the cause of Allah, the Fire will not touch him.

- It bears glad tidings for the one who makes Jihad in the cause of Allah that he will be saved from Hellfire.
- He mentioned the feet in particular, although dust covers the whole body because most of those who made Jihad at that time were fighting on foot, and so the feet got covered with dust in all cases.
- Ibn Hajar said: If the feet are forbidden from the Fire for merely being touched by dust, then how about the one who worked hard and exerted himself and did his best?!
