Hadiths on Oath to Abstain from Intercourse with One's Wife

The 3 hadiths deal with the oath of abstaining from one's wife: at the end of four months, the husband chooses between annulling his oath or divorcing; more than ten Companions, met by the reporter, all stopped the one who swears to stay away from his wife; and the reminder that in the pre-Islamic period this oath lasted one or two years, before Allah fixed its term, an oath of less than four months not counting as abstinence.
