Hadith text: Whoever carries weapons against us is not one of us

عن أبي موسى الأشعري رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: «مَنْ حَمَلَ عَلَيْنَا السِّلَاحَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا».

Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever carries weapons against us is not one of us."

• The Hadīth gives a stern warning against Muslims fighting one another.
• One of the most mischievous acts on earth is to brandish weapons against Muslims and cause corruption by killing.
• The warning in question does not apply to just fighting, such as fighting the oppressors, corruptors, and the like.
• It is prohibited to scare Muslims with weapons and the like, even if done jokingly.
