عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ المؤْمنينَ رَضيَ اللهُ عنها: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنَ الغَائِطِ قَالَ: «غُفْرَانَكَ».

‘Ā’ishah, Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her), reported: When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) came out of the privy, he would say: 'Ghufrānak' (Your forgiveness).

• It was said about the reason for asking for forgiveness after relieving oneself: It is due to the shortcoming in giving thanks to Allah for His many blessings, which include the facilitation to make it easy to remove what is harmful.
