📖 3 min readAlways and eternally, nothing that did not exist has been renewed for Him. And when He decreed the necessity of faith in Him, His messengers, His books, and the good and evil of His decree, and divided people into believers and disbelievers, and informed that the disbeliever is arrogant towards the messengers, the greatest obligation for their disbelief is indicated by His statement, pointing to the necessity of faith in the futility and abandonment of reasoning and opinion, since human intellect is not independent in some divine matters. This is expressed by what is often used to describe what is doubted and is used to describe falsehood, indicating that they are doubters, even if they are resolute, because they have no proof, and that they are essentially nullifiers. {Zae'm} Ibn 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, said: 'It is a nickname for lying.' In a hadith of Abu Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, reported by Abu Dawud: 'How evil a mount is what they claim.' {Those who disbelieve} - meaning they veiled what the intellects indicated about the oneness of Allah, even if it was in the slightest way. Since claim (za'eem) is a pretension of knowledge and is transitive to two objects, Allah established their place by saying: {That they will not be resurrected} - meaning there is no one to resurrect them in any way. Since Allah has referred to the two types of believers and disbelievers, pointing to the definitive and necessary proof of the existence of the Necessator and what is necessitated by Him, the resurrection is obligatory. He sufficed in the matter by responding to them, saying: {Say} - meaning to them: {Yes} - meaning you will be resurrected. Then He confirmed it with a clear oath, saying: {And by my Lord} - meaning the One who is gracious to me.
And [it is described with] reverence, desire, purification, and glad tidings. He said: {ويدخله} - that is, as a mercy for him, an honor, and a privilege - {جنّات} - meaning gardens with large trees and shady branches that provide shade for those who enter, and extended meadows with varied flowers, fragrant with scent, bringing joy to those who behold them. And He indicated the perpetuity of their irrigation by saying: {تجري}. Since the general availability of water to all the earth is not commendable, He specified that it is within them in the best of conditions, saying: {من تحتها}. He also indicated their greatness by saying: {الأنهار}. And since the idea of being deprived of such a thing or expecting its cessation would be sorrowful, He removed that expectation by saying, gathering [the idea] so that one would not think that eternity is limited to one specific individual, explicitly stating that its meaning includes gathering, and that all who partake of it are equal in eternity: {خالدين فيها}. He emphasized this by saying: {أبداً}. The interpretation, according to the reading of Nafi' and Ibn 'Amir with the nun, is that we perform the action of atonement and entry into this bliss due to our greatness, for He is not able to make happy whom He wills and miserable whom He wills except Allah, the Sublime. And this ability is not complete except for one who is great, with no rejection of His command fundamentally. Since this is a magnificent matter that brings joy to the heart with its bliss, He indicated His greatness with what brings joy to the heart, saying: {ذلك} - that is, the matter that is very high, of forgiveness and honor, and nothing else - {الفوز العظيم} - for it is a gatherer of all.
The erasure of the traces of sins and their remnants is a recompense to you for your forgiveness of them, and it is fitting that it should reform them for you due to your forgiveness of them. For indeed, He {is Most Merciful}, increasing you thereafter in the honor of benevolence through His favor, if you honor them. Thus, you are formed by His character, may He be exalted, and He increases you from His bounty.
He taught and perfected the management with the utmost wisdom and perpetuated it, preserving it from every defect with His magnificent might. Whoever intends to prevent this also does so, and all glorify Him, may He be exalted, indicating that He is the One, the Subduer. The first and last of the Friday prayer are encompassed by this surah, and it has come to explain and reveal it in the most magnificent manner, because the purpose of this surah is the outcome of the purpose of that one. It returns - by transcending the impurities of imperfection and being characterized by all the attributes of perfection, and the comprehensiveness of power and the encompassing of knowledge regarding the states of the disbeliever and the believer - to the beginning, with the goodness of its conclusion, and the knowledge of the magnificence of its organization, and the ingenuity of the coherence of all its verses, and the brilliance of its harmony - and Allah is the One who grants success to what is correct.

Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allah. To Him belongs dominion, and to Him belongs [all] praise, and He is over all things competent.
It is He who created you, and among you is the disbeliever, and among you is the believer. And Allah, of what you do, is Seeing.
He created the heavens and earth in truth and formed you and perfected your forms; and to Him is the [final] destination.
He knows what is within the heavens and earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare. And Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts.
Has there not come to you the news of those who disbelieved before? So they tasted the bad consequence of their affair, and they will have a painful punishment.
That is because their messengers used to come to them with clear evidences, but they said, "Shall human beings guide us?" and disbelieved and turned away. And Allah dispensed [with them]; and Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy.
Those who disbelieve have claimed that they will never be resurrected. Say, "Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected; then you will surely be informed of what you did. And that, for Allah, is easy."
So believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Qur'an which We have sent down. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do.
The Day He will assemble you for the Day of Assembly - that is the Day of Deprivation. And whoever believes in Allah and does righteousness - He will remove from him his misdeeds and admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.
But the ones who disbelieved and denied Our verses - those are the companions of the Fire, abiding eternally therein; and wretched is the destination.
No disaster strikes except by permission of Allah. And whoever believes in Allah - He will guide his heart. And Allah is Knowing of all things.
And obey Allah and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away - then upon Our Messenger is only [the duty of] clear notification.
Allah - there is no deity except Him. And upon Allah let the believers rely.
O you who have believed, indeed, among your wives and your children are enemies to you, so beware of them. But if you pardon and overlook and forgive - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
Your wealth and your children are but a trial, and Allah has with Him a great reward.
So fear Allah as much as you are able and listen and obey and spend [in the way of Allah]; it is better for your selves. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.
If you loan Allah a goodly loan, He will multiply it for you and forgive you. And Allah is Most Appreciative and Forbearing.
Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
