📖 3 min readIt is illustrated for every person the image of their deeds, such that they have no doubt it is their own, then He makes that image their punishment, in which they find the amount of pain that God, in His glory, knows they deserve.
He walks in the world according to what he was commanded, without excess or deficiency, and his light is complete. However, if his desires are extinguished, his light is also extinguished - may God protect us from that and grant us the ability to remain steadfast. This extinction occurs at times when the individual is seized by the snares of desires, which are the forms of lusts, and thus he is inclined towards the fire in proportion to his inclination towards them. The hypocrite appears to have the light of affirmation of the oneness of God, but when he walks, his light is extinguished because his affirmation lacks reality, and therefore his light lacks reality. Since what was mentioned earlier is only possible through the power of God, He explained it by saying, emphasizing the denial of the resurrection by the disbelievers and its implications: {Indeed, You} alone {are capable over all things}, meaning that His will can encompass everything, {all-powerful}, meaning He has complete power. After mentioning the Prophet's gentleness, peace be upon him, towards the weakest of people, the women, and his good manners and noble character, because he was created to have compassion for God's servants and mercy towards them, and concluded with what the believers have of honor and what God has of complete power, this led to the humiliation and disgrace of their enemies. He said, addressing them and warning them of the danger of that day, and being the most sincere of creation, so that he, peace be upon him, would be the one who combines in his obedience to God, the Exalted and Sublime, the opposites of gentleness and severity, pleasure and anger, patience and revenge, and others. This would be a clear indication of worshiping God with what He commanded and being characterized by His commands, and everything that pleases Him: {O Prophet}
And when they both acted like men in their independence and not considering themselves as followers, He intensified their punishment by including them with the men in their punishment, saying, indicating the penetration of His judgment into those who are mightier than them after it penetrated into them: {with those who enter}, meaning those who are greater than them, among those who have a connection to the people of God and those who do not have a connection to them. Let everyone learn a lesson with the Prophet, peace be upon him, to the utmost degree of learning, fearing something like that. And this is a stripper of the hearts of those who started with disciplining them - may God be pleased with them.
This refers to the beloved, Moses, peace be upon him, as it is said: 'The friend of my friend is included in my friendship.' This is because when Moses, peace be upon him, overpowered the magicians, the woman believed in him. As a result, Pharaoh tormented her, and she died after Allah showed her her home in Paradise. Being under Pharaoh's rule did not harm her because she was excused due to her circumstances. The verse is an example of ellipsis: first, 'so they did not ask for Paradise' is omitted because it is implied by 'My Lord, build for me a house with You'; second, 'she was under a disbeliever' is omitted because it is implied by the first phrase. When the example was completed with those who mistreated the prophets, and their connection to the prophets did not benefit them but rather increased their harm due to their disregard for good despite its proximity and ease, and with those who treated the prophets with kindness, and their connection to the enemies did not harm them but rather increased their good due to their kindness despite the difficulties they faced, a comparison was made with her counterpart in the statement of the Prophet, peace be upon him, as narrated by the two Sheikhs from Abu Musa, may Allah be pleased with him: 'Many men have completed their faith, but only Maryam bint Imran and Asiyah bint Muzahim have completed their faith among women, and the superiority of Aisha over women is like the superiority of porridge over food.' And with her being compared to Maryam in perfection, their situations in marriage and virginity are contrasted. Allah did not test her with the mixture of a husband, combining the two types of previously married and virgin women that He gave to His Prophet, peace be upon him. She treated herself and others with kindness and respect, and Allah took care of her.

O Prophet, why do you prohibit [yourself from] what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking the approval of your wives? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
Allah has already ordained for you [Muslims] the dissolution of your oaths. And Allah is your protector, and He is the Knowing, the Wise.
And [remember] when the Prophet confided to one of his wives a statement; and when she informed [another] of it and Allah showed it to him, he made known part of it and ignored a part. And when he informed her about it, she said, "Who told you this?" He said, "I was informed by the Knowing, the Acquainted."
If you two [wives] repent to Allah, [it is best], for your hearts have deviated. But if you cooperate against him - then indeed Allah is his protector, and Gabriel and the righteous of the believers and the angels, moreover, are [his] assistants.
Perhaps his Lord, if he divorced you [all], would substitute for him wives better than you - submitting [to Allah], believing, devoutly obedient, repentant, worshipping, and traveling - [ones] previously married and virgins.
O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded.
O you who have disbelieved, make no excuses that Day. You will only be recompensed for what you used to do.
O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord will remove from you your misdeeds and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow [on] the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believed with him. Their light will proceed before them and on their right; they will say, "Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things competent."
O Prophet, strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be harsh upon them. And their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the destination.
Allah presents an example of those who disbelieved: the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot. They were under two of Our righteous servants but betrayed them, so those prophets did not avail them from Allah at all, and it was said, "Enter the Fire with those who enter."
And Allah presents an example of those who believed: the wife of Pharaoh, when she said, "My Lord, build for me near You a house in Paradise and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds and save me from the wrongdoing people."
And [the example of] Mary, the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We blew into [her garment] through Our angel, and she believed in the words of her Lord and His scriptures and was of the devoutly obedient.
