📖 1 min readThe Most Noble is one of the 99 beautiful names of Allah. Its meaning: The One whose nobility and generosity are perfect.
To pronounce the name The Most Noble in Arabic, we say: Al-Maajid.
It is written in Arabic: الماجد.
From the Arabic root م-ج-د (m-j-d, nobility and glory), مَاجِد (maajid) is the active participle فَاعِل, denoting supreme nobility and generosity.
The Name “The Most Noble” means: The One whose nobility and generosity are perfect. It affirms a perfection belonging to Allah without defect, limit, or resemblance to creation. In al-Ghazali’s perspective, the believer never claims to share the divine attribute in its reality; instead, the Name gives an orientation suited to the condition of a servant.
Meditating on this Name calls the believer to grow in reverence and humility, never ascribing to creation what belongs only to the Creator. Knowledge of the Name thereby becomes worship, refinement of character, and trust in Allah alone.
