What to say when one is praised

اللهم لا تؤاخذني بما يقولون ، واغفر لي مالا يعلمون [واجعلني خيراً مما يظنون]

Pronunciation

Allahumma la tu'akhidhni bi-ma yaqulun, wa-ghfir li ma la ya'lamun [wa-j'alni khayran min ma yadhmun].

Translation

"O Allah, do not take me to task for what they say, and forgive me for what they do not know [and make me better than what they think]."
