Invocations of the call to prayer

Arabic text

يقول مثل ما يقول المؤذن إلا في حي على الصلاة ، وحي على الفلاح فيقول لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله

Pronunciation

Yaqulu mithla ma yaqulu-l-mu'adhin, illa fi hayya 'ala-s-salah wa hayya 'ala-l-falah, fa-yaqulu: la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.

Translation

He repeats what the muezzin says, except for "Come to prayer" and "Come to success", where he says: "There is no power nor strength except with Allah".

يقول وأنا أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله ، وحده لا شريك له ، وأن محمد عبده ورسوله ، رضيت بالله رباً ، وبمحمداً رسولاً وبالإسلام ديناً (( يقول ذلك عقب تشهد المؤذن))

Pronunciation

Yaqulu wa ana ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah, wahdahu la sharika lah, wa anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluh, raditu billahi rabban, wa bi-Muhammadin rasulan, wa bi-l-islami dinan. (He says this after the muezzin's tashahhud.)

Translation

He also says: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone without partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger; I am content with Allah as Lord, with Muhammad as messenger, and with Islam as religion" (he says this after the muezzin's tashahhud).

Arabic text

يصلي على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بعد فراغه من إجابة المؤذن

Pronunciation

Yusalli 'ala-n-nabiyyi salla-llahu 'alayhi wa sallam ba'da faraghihi min ijabati-l-mu'adhin.

Translation

He sends blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ after finishing responding to the muezzin.

اللهم رب هذه الدعوة التامة ،والصلاة القائمة، آت محمداً الوسيلة والفضيلة، وأبعثه مقاماً محموداً الذي وعدته، [ إنك لا تخلف الميعاد ]

Pronunciation

Allahumma Rabba hadhihi-d-da'wati-t-tammah, wa-s-salati-l-qa'imah, ati Muhammadan al-wasilata wa-l-fadilah, wa-b'ath-hu maqaman mahmudan alladhi wa'adtah, [innaka la tukhlifu-l-mi'ad].

Translation

"O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and of the established prayer, grant Muhammad the intercession and the excellence, and resurrect him to the praised station You have promised him [You never break Your promise]."

Arabic text

يدعو لنفسه بين الأذان والإقامة فإن الدعاء حينئذٍ لا يرد

Pronunciation

Yad'u li-nafsihi bayna-l-adhan wa-l-iqamah, fa-inna-d-du'a'a hinidhin la yuradd.

Translation

He supplicates for himself between the adhan and the iqamah, for the supplication at that time is not rejected.
