Abdullah ibn Abbas

Abdullah bin Abbas, on the authority of a group of the Ansar Abdullah bin Abbas, on the authority of a group of the Ansar, that they said: We were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when a star was shot. He said: (What would you say to such a person when he shot)? They said: We used to say: (A great man was born) tonight and a great man died. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said: (It is not thrown for the death of anyone nor for his life, but when our Lord decrees a matter, the bearers of the Throne glorify Him, then the people of heaven who come after them, until the praise reaches the people of the lowest heaven. Then those who follow the bearers of the Throne say to the bearers of the Throne: What did your Lord say? They answer them, and the people of the heavens inquire among each other until the news reaches the people of the lowest heaven. Then the jinn snatch away the hearing and deliver it to the people of heaven.
