Biography of Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr
b: Abdullah bin Al-Zubair bin Abdul Muttalib bin Hashim bin Abd Manaf Al-Qurashi Al-Hashemi, cousin of the Prophet ﷺ and his mother was Atika bint Abi Wahb bin Amr bin Aidh bin Imran bin Makhzum, who had no descendants. He was the brother of Daba'ah bint Al-Zubayr, and Al-Zubayr was the brother of Abd. Allah is the father of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Abu Talib's brother to their father and mother. Abdullah witnessed the fighting of the Romans during the caliphate of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, peace be upon him. He was killed on the day of Ajnadin as a martyr. He was found around a group of Romans whom he killed. He then was severely wounded and died. Al-Waqidi said: The first Roman dead man was killed on that day. Ajnadin, the penguin, who was killed by Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr bin Abdul Muttalib, emerged in a marked way, so Abdullah bin Al-Zubair came out to him, and Abdullah killed him without being plundered.
Then another came out to him, so Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr also came out to him, so they fought with spears, then they went to the two swords, so he attacked him. Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr hit him while he was leaning on his shoulder, and said: Take it. I am Ibn Abdul Muttalib. So he cut off the shield with his sword and quickly fell on his shoulders. Then the Rumi turned in defeat, so Amr bin Al-Aas decided not to duel him, so Abdullah said: By Allah, I cannot find myself patient. When the swords were mixed and some were taken from each other, he found in a valley surrounded by ten Romans. They were killed. He was killed among them. the Prophet ﷺ used to say: "My cousin and my love," another report states that he used to say: "My mother's son." No narration of him is preserved from the Prophet ﷺ and he was about thirty years old on the day the Prophet ﷺ died. Narrated by Abu Omar.
