Sa'id ibn Zayd

Saeed bin Zaid Al-Qurashi Saeed bin Zaid bin Amr bin Nufail bin Abdul-Uzza bin Riyah bin Abdullah bin Qart (3) Ibn Razah bin Adi bin Ka'b bin Luay Al-Qurashi Al-Adawi, who is the cousin of Omar bin Al-Khattab. Their lineages converge at Nufail. His mother is Fatima bint Ba'ja bin Malih Al-Khuza'iyya. He was the brother-in-law of Omar bin Al-Khattab. Omar married his sister Fatima bint Al-Khattab, and his sister Atika bint Zaid was married to Omar bin Al-Khattab. He married her after Abdullah bin Abi Bakr Al-Siddiq, peace be upon him, was killed on her behalf. Saeed was nicknamed Abu Al-A'war; according to another report, Abu Thawr, and the first is more.

He converted to Islam in the past before Omar ibn al-Khattab, he and his wife Fatima bint al-Khattab. She was the reason for Omar's conversion to Islam, as we mention in his translation, Allah willing. He was one of the first immigrants, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, made him brotherly with Ubayy ibn Ka'b. He did not witness Badr, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, struck him with his arrow and his reward. Another report states: He did not witness it because he was absent in the Levant, so Aqib, the raider of Badr, came, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, struck him with his arrow and rewarded him. This was said by Musa bin Uqba and Ibn Ishaq (4). Al-Waqidi said: Before setting out for Badr, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, had sent Talha ibn Ubayd Allah and Sa`id ibn Zaid to the Levant to spy on news. Then they returned to Medina and presented it on the day of the battle at Badr, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, struck them with their arrow and reward.

Al-Zubair said the same thing. It has been said: He witnessed Badr, and the first is more correct. He witnessed the subsequent scenes. He is one of the ten people attested to have been in Paradise. Abu Al-Fadl Abdullah bin Ahmad Al-Khatib, on the authority of Saeed bin Zaid, who said: Whoever is killed while saving his money is a martyr. The invitation was answered, and from that, Arwa bint Uwais complained about him to Marwan bin Al-Hakam, who was the governor of Medina to Muawiyah, and said: My land wronged me, so Marwan sent for him, and Saeed said: Do you think I wronged her when I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, say: Whoever wronged a span of land will be surrounded by seven lands on the Day of Resurrection? Oh Allah, if she is a liar, do not put her to death until her sight becomes blind, and make her grave in her well. She did not die until her sight went away. She started walking in her house and fell into her well. It was her grave. He said: The people of Medina used to say: Allah blinded you as He blinded Arwa, adding to it.

Then the people of ignorance began to say: Allah blinded you as He blinded Arwa, meaning Arwa (1) which is in the mountain. They think she is blind, and this is ignorance on their part.
