Biography of Thabit ibn Qays
B S: Thabit ibn Qays ibn al-Khutaym ibn 'Amr ibn Yazid ibn Suwad ibn Dhafar, as stated by Abu 'Umar.
Abu al-Kalbi said, and Abu Musa: He is Qays ibn al-Khutaym ibn 'Adi ibn 'Amr ibn Suwad ibn Dhafar al-Ansari al-Dhafri, and Dhafar: a branch of the Aws, mentioned among the Companions, died during the caliphate of Mu'awiya.
And his father: Qays ibn al-Khutaym, one of the poets, died in his company before the Prophet's ﷺ arrival in Medina as a migrant, and Thabit witnessed with 'Ali ibn Abi Talib ﵁ the Camel, Siffin, and Nahrawan battles.
Thabit ibn Qays has three sons: 'Umar, Muhammad, and Yazid, who were killed on the Day of al-Harra, and Thabit does not have a narration, and his son 'Adi ibn Thabit is one of the trustworthy narrators.
