Umm Haram

Umm Haram bint Milhan Umm Haram bint Milhan bin Khalid bin Zaid bin Haram bin Jundab bin Amir bin Ghanam bin Adi bin Al-Najjar Al-Ansariyah Al-Khazrajiya, her mother is Malika bint Malik bin Adi bin Zaid Manat bin Adi bin Amr bin Malik bin Al-Najjar. Umm Haram is the aunt of Anas bin Malik. She is the wife of Ubadah bin Al-Samit (1), and her name is Al-Rumaisa. Another report states: Al-Ghumisa, but her name is not correct. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, honored her and visited her in her house, and had a nap with her, and told her that she was a martyr. Reported by Abu Yasser, on the authority of Abdullah bin Ahmad, who said: My father told me, Abdul Samad told us, my father told me, Yahya bin Saeed told me, Muhammad bin Yahya bin Hibban told me, Anas bin Malik told me, on the authority of Umm Haram.

Bint Milhan - who was his aunt - reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, slept in her house. He then woke up laughing and said: People from my nation were shown to me riding on the green sea like kings on beds. She said: She said: O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah to make me one of them. He said: You are one of them. Then he fell asleep and woke up laughing, so I said: O Messenger of Allah, what makes you laugh? He said: People from my nation were shown to me riding on the green sea like kings on a bed. I said: O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah to make me one of them. He said: You are one of the first. So Ubadah ibn al-Samit married her. He took her out with him. When he crossed the sea [with her] (5) she rode an animal and struck it, killing it (6).
