'Uthman ibn 'Uthman ath-Thaqafi

'Uthman ibn 'Uthman al-Thaqafi was mentioned by some later scholars, saying: his classification is among the people of Homs; he was a governor over San'a' of Syria. The following hadith is narrated from him: 4940 - Ahmad ibn Sulayman ibn Hadhlam informed us, in a written communication to me: Abu Zur'a related to us: Abu al-Yaman related to us: Hariz ibn 'Uthman related to us, on the authority of 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi 'Awf, on the authority of 'Uthman ibn 'Uthman al-Thaqafi, the Companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him), who said: «Indeed, Allah accepts the repentance of His servant until a year before his death», then he said: «until a month before it», then he said: «until a day before it», until he said: «before the death-rattle begins»
