Definition of Alignment / Row

Allah says: 'As if they were a solid structure (marsûs)' (As-Saff: 4).

Marsûs: solidly assembled, without cracks.

Believers who fight in tight ranks are like a solid, united structure.

﴿إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُقَـٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِهِۦ صَفًّۭا كَأَنَّهُم بُنْيَـٰنٌۭ مَّرْصُوصٌۭ﴾

Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause in a row as though they are a [single] structure joined firmly.
