Definition of Nose
Al-anf (the nose): the organ of smell.
It represents pride because the proud person raises their nose.
Anifa min kadhâ: he disdained something.
Allah says: 'A spring from which drink those brought near' (Al-Mutaffifîn: 28).
And We ordained for them therein a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds is legal retribution. But whoever gives [up his right as] charity, it is an expiation for him. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.
And among them, [O Muhammad], are those who listen to you, until when they depart from you, they say to those who were given knowledge, "What has he said just now?" Those are the ones of whom Allah has sealed over their hearts and who have followed their [own] desires.
