Definition of To rebuke / To forbid

Al-zajr: driving away with a cry.

One says 'zajartuhu' (I rebuked him).

Allah says: 'They denied him and rebuked him (zajara)' (Al-Qamar: 9).

Noah was rejected by his people despite his warnings.

Surah As-Saffat : 2 Meccan

﴿فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًا﴾

And those who drive [the clouds]

Surah As-Saffat : 19 Meccan

﴿فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ﴾

It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing.

The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled.
