Definition Al-ʿadla wal-ʿaʾla wal-ʿazla

Al-ʿadla wal-ʿaʾla wal-ʿazla according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

Know that the problems of inheritance shares (fara'id) fall into three mentioned categories: when the prescribed shares (furud) and the shares (siham) are equal, the problem is called 'adila (balanced), as with the husband, the mother and two uterine sisters; when the shares exceed the siham, it is called 'a'ila (deficient), as with the husband, the mother and the full sister; when the siham exceed the shares, it is called 'azila (surplus), as with the mother and the full sister.
