(The Junaydiyya): that which is connected to al-Junayd al-Baghdadi, may Allah have mercy on him. They were two: the first is the shaykh 'Uthman al-Daqqaq, the second is Fakhr al-Din al-Mansur; both were disciples of Imam Abu Hanifa al-Kufi, without peer in knowledge and piety; they would fast a whole week and spent seventy years in striving and ascetic discipline, and became disciples of al-Junayd al-Baghdadi.
