Alastkhara according to At-Ta'rifat al-Fiqhiyya (Al-Barkati)

It is asking Allah, the Most High, to choose for one what suits him. There is for this a well-known recommended (sunnah) prayer, and what is preferred (al-akhdar) is what was reported from as-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, as a marfu hadith (traced to the Prophet): "O Allah, choose well for me and choose for me", narrated by at-Tirmidhi in his Jami'.
