Definition Al-aayn

Al-aayn according to An-Nihaya (Ibn al-Athir)

Weariness and toil.

Al-aayn according to Mufradat (Ar-Raghib)

A term by which one asks after the place by way of condition, like: 'ayna tajlis, ajlis' (where do you sit, sit); and 'mata' asks after the time.
