📖 1 min readPlural of baradhun, which is the horse of the non-Arabs.
Singular: baradhun. Ibn al-Anbari said: it applies to both male and female, and they sometimes say for the female: baradhun - with a dotted dhal -: these are horses that are not Arabic. They considered the nun to be original, as if they noted the arabization, and they said of the baradhun that its nun is additional because it is Arabic. Thus, the analogy of the baradhun, according to the one who treats arabized words as Arabic, is the addition of the nun. (Al-Misbah al-Munir, entry baradhun, p. 16, and Fath al-Bari, vol./p. 91).
