Definition Al-djal-

Al-djal- according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

An intensive form of ad-dajl, which is lying; roaming the whole earth, arrogance, and deception; that is: an abundant liar who roams the whole earth, arrogant and deceptive. It is the knowledge of Ibn Sayyad, and his emergence is among the signs of the Hour; he was born in the time of our Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) and is blind in the right eye. In al-Mishkat, from Fatima bint Qays, in the hadith of Tamim ad-Dari, she said: 'There was a woman dragging her hair; I asked: who are you? She said: I am the scout (jassasa); go to that castle. I went to it, and there was a man dragging his hair, bound in chains, swaying between heaven and earth. I asked: who are you? He said: I am the Dajjal, and my mother is a woman of the Jews.' And the books of hadith are full of mention of the Dajjal.

Al-djal- according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

The liar, the deluder, and the coverer; hence ad-dajjal, for he covers the earth with his vast multitudes.

Al-djal- according to At-Ta'rifat al-Fiqhiyya (Al-Barkati)

From ad-dajl, which is deceptive mixing. The hadiths on his emergence before the Hour stands are widely transmitted (mutawatir), and the prophets warned their communities of his evil. He is a one-eyed Jew whom God Most High will unleash as a trial for the servants; he will claim divinity, and great beguiling wonders will appear from him; our master 'Isa (peace be upon him) will kill him after descending from heaven. They differed over whether the Dajjal already exists or is yet to be born; the sound view is the first, and God knows best.
