Definition Al-fwaq

Al-fwaq according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

In Persian: shchak; in Hindi: hikki. It is the movement of the parts of the stomach's inner layer, a movement composed of convulsive contraction and expansive dilation, with various causes, as in the causes and signs.

Al-fwaq according to Maqalid al-'Ulum (As-Suyuti)

The movement of the stomach's mouth to expel what harms it.
