Definition Al-ḥryr

Al-ḥryr according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

Fine, strong threads, soft to the touch, which the silkworm produces (apart from the harir); the term 'harir' is applied to garments woven from these threads. Wearing silk is unlawful for men in this world, lawful for them in the hereafter; Allah, the Most High, said: 'and their garments therein will be of silk.'
