Definition Al-infaq

Al-infaq according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

It is spending wealth toward the need.

Al-infaq according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

Spending wealth on the need, mentioned by Ibn al-Kammal (al-Tarifat, p. 40). And al-Raghib said (al-Mufradat, p.

502): it applies to wealth and to other things.

Al-infaq according to At-Ta'rifat al-Fiqhiyya (Al-Barkati)

It is spending wealth on the need.

Al-infaq in the Quran

﴿قُل لَّوْ أَنتُمْ تَمْلِكُونَ خَزَآئِنَ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّىٓ إِذًۭا لَّأَمْسَكْتُمْ خَشْيَةَ ٱلْإِنفَاقِ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ قَتُورًۭا﴾

« Say [to them], "If you possessed the depositories of the mercy of my Lord, then you would withhold out of fear of spending." And ever has man been stingy. »
