Definition Al-khḍr

Al-khḍr according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

It is used to express expansion and despair of contraction, for his temperamental faculties are extended towards the realm of the seen and the unseen, as are his spiritual faculties.

Al-khḍr according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

It is used by the people of truth to express expansion and despair of contraction.

Al-khḍr according to At-Ta'rifat al-Fiqhiyya (Al-Barkati)

In the statement of Ali, may Allah be pleased with him: "There is no zakat in the khudar," he meant leafy vegetables, and the khadrawat are fruits, such as the apple and the pear.
