Definition Al-khms

Al-khms according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

(With dammah on the kha', with dammah on the mim, and with sukun on the mim): it is the portion of a thing when divided into five equal parts. Allah, the Most High, said (Quran 8:41: "And know that whatever spoils you gain, a fifth of it belongs to Allah, to the Messenger, to the near of kin, to the orphans, to the needy, and to the wayfarer").
