The noun is al-khayra; one says 'Muhammad is the Messenger of God, khayrat Allah' or khayratuhu, with sukun of the ya' (al-Tashil li-'Ulum al-Tanzil, 1/26; al-Matla', p. 360; al-Qamus al-Qawim, 1/217).

Al-khyra according to At-Ta'rifat al-Fiqhiyya (Al-Barkati)

A noun for choosing (ikhtiyar), like al-khiyara. Al-Raghib said: 'al-khiyara is the state that comes upon the one who seeks counsel and the one who chooses.'
