📖 2 min readIt is that whose conception, along with that of its implicate, suffices for the intellect to ascertain the entailment between them, such as the divisibility of four by two equal parts. Indeed, whoever conceives the number four and conceives division into two equal parts ascertains, merely by conceiving both, that four is divisible into two equal parts. It is sometimes said regarding the manifest implicate: that whose conception necessitates the conception of its implicate, such as the fact that two is the double of one, for whoever conceives two perceives that it is the double of one. The first meaning is more general, because whenever the conception of the implicant suffices regarding the entailment, the conception of the implicate along with the conception of the implicant suffices. Thus the second meaning is called: the manifest implicate in the more specific sense, and not everything for which conceptions suffice is limited to the conception of a single thing, so this is called: the manifest implicate in the more general sense.
