The opposite of the ma'ruf, meaning what the Sharia disapproves. Al-Qari said: "The scholars only disapprove of what the imams have agreed upon; as for what is disputed, there is no disapproval of it, for it falls under one of the two positions, and every mujtahid is correct" (al-Mirqat, commentary on Mishkat).
« And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful. »

« You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient. »
Surah
« They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous. »
