In the miscellany of Shaykh Baha al-Din al-Amili, from the interpretations of Jamal al-Arifin Shaykh Abd al-Razzaq al-Kashani regarding the story of Maryam: He only materialized before her as a human being of balanced creation and handsome appearance, due to the impression of her soul upon nature, so she was moved according to the requirement of innate constitution, and the effect spread from the imagination into nature so that her desire was stirred and she emitted fluid, just as it happens in sleep during a wet dream. And the generation of a child from a single drop was only possible because it is established in the natural sciences that the man's semen in the generation of a child has the status of rennet in cheese, and the woman's fluid has the status of milk, meaning that coagulation comes from the man's semen and concretion from the woman's fluid, not in the sense that the man's semen alone possesses the coagulating power and the woman's fluid the concrete power, but in the sense that the coagulating power is stronger in the man's semen and the concrete power is stronger in the woman's fluid, otherwise they would not unite into a single thing, and the man's semen does not congeal until it becomes a part of the child.
A thick, gushing fluid, the exit of which brings pleasure.
It is the white, thick, gushing fluid from which the child is formed, which removes desire and causes the male organ to become limp upon its exit. Al-Nasafi said: It is the seminal drop.
