Definition Al-mstfyḍ

Al-mstfyḍ according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

Any report by which knowledge of its informant is attained through inference. It is of a lower rank than the mutawatir. At-Tawqif, page 653.

Al-mstfyḍ according to Maqalid al-'Ulum (As-Suyuti)

That which is well-known among the people without reaching the rank of the mutawatir.

Al-mstfyḍ according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)
