Al-muʾthr according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

It is that whose genus has an effect on the nature of the ruling and nothing else: meaning without considering the effect of the nature on the genus, or the genus on the genus. Nihayat al-Su'l 72/3, and Al-Mujaz fi Usul al-Fiqh p. 235.
