Definition Al-nhaya

Al-nhaya according to Maqalid al-'Ulum (As-Suyuti)

The term ghayah: that which a quantified thing reaches to a point where nothing of it exists beyond it.

Al-nhaya according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

That by which a thing becomes quantified, meaning where nothing of it exists beyond it. It was also said that the end of a thing is its utmost limit, originally derived from al-nahy meaning prohibition, and the thing, when it reaches its utmost limit, is prohibited from any increase, as mentioned by Abu al-Baqa.
