Definition Al-nqṭa

Al-nqṭa according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

A thing endowed with position that does not accept division, neither rationally, nor by imagination, nor by cutting, nor by fraction. If it is a substance, it is the substantial point, the indivisible part, and the individual substance. If it is an accident, the accidental point. And the indivisible part is false according to the philosophers, for the body according to them is composed of prime matter and form, not of indivisible parts. The aspects of its falsity are mentioned in the books of philosophy. As for this part, it is established and existent according to the theologians, and the body is composed of these parts according to them.

Al-nqṭa according to Maqalid al-'Ulum (As-Suyuti)

A thing endowed with position that has no part.
