Definition Al-rhṭ

Al-rhṭ according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

Three persons, or from seven to ten, thus in the Mukhtasar al-Kashshaf.

Al-rhṭ according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

In language: a man's kinsfolk and his tribe; from it Allah's saying, exalted be He, relating the words of the people of Shu'ayb (peace be upon him): 'were it not for your kinsfolk (rahtuk), we would have stoned you'.

Al-rhṭ according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

Fewer than ten men, with no woman among them; it has been said generally; it is said: from seven to ten; it is said: up to forty.

Al-rhṭ according to At-Ta'rifat al-Fiqhiyya (Al-Barkati)

From three to ten; and when a number is added to it, the person (nafs) is meant, as in the Quran: 'nine raht' [al-Naml 48].
