The increase of the good work over the customary, to draw people's regard; hence it is conceivable in prayer and not in fasting; yet it is conceivable in the number of fasting. In another formulation: riya' is abandoning sincerity in the work, regarding in it other than God.
The act whose aim is being seen by creatures, heedless of the Creator and blind to Him; mentioned by al-Hurali.
