Al-shkhṣ according to Al-Qamus al-Fiqhi

'The thing, shukhusan': to rise. 'To appear from afar'. 'The arrow': to pass over the target's top. 'To fix so-and-so with one's gaze': to open the eyes without blinking, in contemplation or anger. In the Quran: 'Do not think Allah unaware of what the wrongdoers do; He only defers them to a day on which the eyes will stare fixedly, hastening, heads raised, their glances returning not to them, and their hearts void' (Ibrahim 42-43). 'So-and-so, from one land to another': to go. 'Al-shakhs': every body that rises and appears; usage settled upon man; plurals: ashkhas and shukhus.
