Definition Al-tdakhl

Al-tdakhl according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

It is the entry of one thing into another without increase of volume or magnitude.

Al-tdakhl according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

(In Persian: darikdikar dar-amadan). In the usage of the wise: the permeation of things into one another such that they unite in position and volume. In another formulation: the entry of a thing into another without increase of volume or magnitude. Now position denotes the sensible affection; then, in their view, interpenetration in substances is invalid, unlike accidents, as set out in the books of wisdom.

Al-tdakhl according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

The entry of a thing into a thing without increase of volume or magnitude. The tadakhul of two numbers: the lesser of them sufficing for the greater, as three and nine. (Al-Misbah al-Munir, root dakhala, p. 190; al-Tawqif, p. 166; al-Ta'rifat, p. 46).

Al-tdakhl according to Maqalid al-'Ulum (As-Suyuti)

The meeting of a thing with another in its entirety, until one place suffices for both.

Al-tdakhl according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

The entry of a thing into a thing without increase of volume or magnitude (al-Ta'rifat, p. 56). The tadakhul of two numbers: the lesser annulling the greater, as three and nine.

Al-tdakhl according to Mu'jam Lughat al-Fuqaha

The mingling of things with one another (interference). The tadakhul of two numbers: the greater of the two admitting division by the lesser without remainder.
