Definition Al-wḥda

Al-wḥda according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

And likewise multiplicity are self-evident in the same way as what they said regarding existence, for the conception of unity is part of the conception of the oneness of that which is necessarily conceived. Furthermore, everyone knows that they are one without any effort on their part. And analogize multiplicity to that, but they defined it for clarity as being when a thing is such that it does not divide inasmuch as it is one, and multiplicity as being when a thing is such that it divides inasmuch as it is multiple.

Al-wḥda according to Maqalid al-'Ulum (As-Suyuti)

That by which it is said: for every existing one.

Al-wḥda according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)

Solitude, and the one that is not divided in any way, neither by supposition, nor by imagination, nor in act, and between which and other than it there is no relation in any way. And the one in truth that has absolutely no part at all, then it is applied to every existing thing to the extent that there is no number except that it is correct to describe it by it.
