Al-wkal-a al-ʿama according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

It is the general delegation that is not restricted to one thing over another: as when a person says to another: you are my agent in everything; there then fall under it all matters admitting of agency: financial matters, marriage, divorce, litigation and the like. The agent in this case is called the general agent, and the Malikis call him the agent to whom the delegation was entrusted. (Mu'jam al-mustalahat al-iqtisadiyya, p. 355).
