Definition ʿrḍ al-balad

ʿrḍ al-balad according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

An arc of the meridian circle between the zenith and the equator circle or between one of the poles of the world and the horizon. And the longitude of Ahmad Nakar is (qat) degrees and (mah) minutes, and its latitude is (yah) degrees and (m) minutes, and its qibla azimuth is (ya) degrees and (y) minutes from the west towards the north side.
