In Arabic stylistics, it is when an attribute is ascribed a fitting cause through a subtle and non-real consideration, meaning that what is considered the cause of the attribute is not actually its cause in reality. It has four types, as explained in its proper place, and therefore an act such as Zayd killing his enemies to repel their harm does not belong to this category.
