Definition Idhan

Idhan according to Kitab at-Ta'rifat (Al-Jurjani)

The heart’s resolve. Al-’azm: settling the will without hesitation.

Idhan according to Mufradat (Ar-Raghib)

Humility, lowliness, avowal and speed in obedience and submission, not in the sense of understanding and perception.

Idhan according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

Submission; he idha’ana’d a thing: submitted, rebelling not. Al-Laknawi said: humility, lowliness, avowal and speed in obedience and submission, not in understanding’s and perception’s sense. Said: the heart’s resolve; azm: settling the will after hesitation.
